The first edition of the 200 Miglia di Imola Revival is officially launched.
The 6th of May 2010 is a day that marked the history of Imola!
On that particular Thursday, the first edition of the 200 Miglia di Imola Revival was officially presented to the press.
A press conference as you don’t get to see very often, with representatives from the political scene (such as Daniele Manca, mayor of Imola) and from the economical world (e.g. Walter Sciacca, current manager of the track), about fifty journalists, national and regional television and a large number of motorcycle professionals.
The star riders from the past such as Johnny Ceccotto, Virginio Ferrari, Roberto Gallina, Eugenio Lazzarini, Mario Lega, Marco Lucchinelli, Loris Reggiani, Graziano Rossi — father of Valentino — and Bruno Spaggiari all came personally to the hotel Molino Rosso to attend this event.
The initiative of Christian Jupsin (DG Sport) did not only get the approval but also the support of the highly respected Doctor Claudio Costa (founder of the famous «CLINICA MOBILE») and his brother, the lawyer Carlo. These two carry the heritage of this famous motorcycle race, which was first organised in 1972 on the track of Imola by their father, Checco Costa.
The attention this press conference was given lets us expect that the future of these 200 Miglia looks very promising, and can count on the support of the many Italians carrying this piece of history in their hearts.
So see you at the beginning of October at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari where, after an absence of 25 years, one of the most prestigious events will once again take place.
The planning of the weekend will be identical to the one of our Bikers’ Classics at Spa-Francorchamps: a perfect marriage between amateur riders and champions from the past, all seated on the most amazing machines built before 1980.
